18 August 2011 Hi friends,

One of my friend failed to file his refund return for AY 2009-10.

Is it possible to file this refund now.

I am asking this doubt because Assessment for AY 2009-10 is over by 2010 itself.

18 August 2011 No The Return Can not be filled now. AS Time limit for filling a return is one yr from the end of relevant assessment yr or before completion of assessment whichever is earlier. Hence for A.y 2009-10 the last date for return filling is 31-03-2011 or the date of completion of assessment whichever is earlier.
