Wrong name in income tax data base

Hii. One of my clients name is wrongly entered in Income tax data base. eg Raju (correct as per PAN card) but on Income tax Data base Rju (wrong). As my PAN card is correct i doubt filling PAN correction form would be a solution for this issue.. I want to correct the name on Income tax data base. can anyone guide me on the said issue.

there are lot of persons as same in income tax but pan no is different

so pan no is important which includs your date of birth also

Sorry Samir Dint get you.. Can you guide me on the issue. i.e. how to correct the name on Income tax data base.

I had the same issue. The assessee had corrected the name on PAN (got new PAN card with new name)and even after a year later the old name continued on the efiling site, so it was difficult to link aadhar. But due to simplification of aadhar linking, now the card is linked, so we are not pursuing the matter further.

When I had tried to correct the name in database, CPC had asked me to contact TIN at: 020 27218080 -which was not working :(

Submit Pan Correction Name entering as Change in name and submit to UTI or NSDL it will be done and will get a new card

For IT database correction u should submit PAN Correction form in either offline or online. Online is faster compared with offline. visit NSDL website for apply

It will not be problem, as you entered the PAN no is correct, hence you can make correct name in the next return filling.

Thanks Madhavi, so is it better to keep it as it is, or should i try PAN correction..

Filing of return won't be a problem. But better to get the name in the database corrected [as suggested by S Praveen], if possible to avoid future complications.

If the name in database gets corrected after that, please do inform us.

Same here.. Pan card reads Manideep Nath but database shows Nath Manideep Nath. Now not able to link it to Aadhar. Without that can't file returns. Can anyone please help?
