एक सुलतान की रोज रात को उसके पलंग पर ताजा फुलो कि सेज बिछाए जाती थी.
एक बार सुलतान को आने मेँ थोडी देरी थी.
इसिलिए रोज सेज बिछाने वाली दासी कौ लगा कि थोडी देर सो जाती हु.
सेज पर सोते सोते अचानक उसकी आँख लग गई और नीँद आ गई.
सुलतान आया.
अपनी सेज पर एक दासी को सोते हुए देखकर अत्यंत गुस्सा होकर दासी को 4-5 कौडे मार दिए.
रोती, कांपती दासी पलंग से उतर गई और रोते रोते अचानक जोर जोर से हँसने लगी.
सुलतान ने क्रोधित आवाज मे हँसने का कारण पुछा,
तो दासी नेँ प्रेम से कहा
"जहांपनाह मेँ दो मिनिटि के लिए इस पंलग पर सो गई तो आपने मुझे 4-5 कौडे मार दिए लेकिन आप तो इस पंलग पर रोज पुरी रात सोते हो तो,
खुदा आपको कितने कौडे मारेगा.?
यही सोचकर मेँ हँस पडी."
