Use of financial information available on mca website

Dear Users,

After having accessed the MCA website for audited financial statments of certain Private Limited and Public Limited Companies, I want use the same in some of my reports/blogs mainly for public viewing and also for certain limited private use as part of a feasibility study.

I want to know if the same can be done under Companies Law or any other statute? If so, kindly also help me with the respective statue and provision.

P.S. I have also noticed that some of the above said companies have not filed the Profit and Loss Statement on the MCA website. Kindly also advice if the same can be obtained from MCA via e-mail or otherwise?

Regards,

Mithun

Office of ROC is a public office and you can definitely use the data downloaded from MCA website for the purpose mentioned by you.  Pl note that in the case of private limited companies, P&L statement is treated as confidential document and is not available to you for inspection on MCA portal, even after company has filed the same.  For public companies P&L statement (Form 23ACA) can be downloaded by you if the same has been filed by the company.  If company has not filed it, you cannot get from MCA.
