Demand from tds department

Hello,

I submitted the TDS Return for Q3 of 2016-17 and the department has raised a demand for Rs.140/- due to late deduction of TDS.

Now, my query is what is to be done? I have one unconsumed challan of Rs.30 for this respective period. Please guide me the process that is to be taken.

unconsumed challan you adjust in next qtr pay the interest and raise a resolution ticket in TRACES and close the issue

Can I use that unconsumed challan for paying Rs.140/-? Also let me know from which tab in the TRACES the resolution ticket as mentioned by you to be raised?

Rs140 you pay seperate;ly and then login into traces there will be one drop down for request for resolution attach this document and type the descripttion of having paid the demand and ask to close the issue

Okay thanks. In that case, Can I claim the refund of Rs.30 , i.e., the unconsumed challan amount?

Dear Mr. Sivaram,

As you said, I went to the tab named "Request for Resolution", there I have found another drop down box named "Request Category". Now, which category I should select? Is it "Amount paid against the Demand Notice"?

unconsumed challan adjust in next quarter namely q4 use statement status drop down where you can write your query and attach that interest paid document
