Indirect tax collection increases by a modest 4.5 percent

Indirect Tax Revenue (Provisional) Collections During April-June 2014 Increase from Rs 1,08,639 Crore to Rs.1,13,570 Crore Registering an Increase of 4.5 % over the Corresponding Period in last Financial Year 
 

 The overall growth in Indirect Tax Revenue (Provisional) Collections during the first quarter of current fiscal year i.e. April-June 2014 have increased from Rs. 1,08,639 crore to Rs.1,13,570 crore registering an increase of 4.5 % over the corresponding period (April –June 2013) in last financial year. Service Tax collections alone during April-June 2014 have increased from Rs.32,617 crore (April –June 2013) to Rs 38,862 crore (April-June, 2014).

Details of overall Indirect Tax revenue (provisional) collections during April-June 2014, along with growth rate compared to the corresponding period in the previous year are as follows:
