The Ministry of Finance has issued an Economic and Functional Classification of the Central Government Budget 2013-14 here today. Since 1957-58, the Economic Division of the Ministry of Finance has been preparing an economic classification of the Central Government budgetary transactions to make the budget a more useful tool of economic analysis. This publication reclassifies budgetary outlays of the Central Government in terms of national income aggregates (consumption, investment and transfer payments) as well as functions of Government in terms of general, economic and social services.
