Group to comprehensively take up the issue of allowing Indian Chartered Accountancy firms to use internationally recognized names alongwith Report on administrative issues relating to Regulation 190 of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988. - (24-07-2014)

Dear Sir,

The Council at its 332nd meeting held from 20th to 22nd March, 2014 at New Delhi, while considering Issue No.3, i.e. `Allowing Indian Chartered Accountancy firms to use internationally recognized names' under the Item No.62, `Report of the Group on 5 Issues contained in the notes from the Office on Hon'ble Minister for Corporate Affairs as forwarded by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs vide its letter no.1/1/2012-PI dated 27th February, 2012', had decided that since divergent views are coming on this issue, the report of this Group alongwith Item no.42 of the Council agenda of the 332nd meeting i.e. `Report on administrative issues relating to Regulation 190 of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988', may be referred to a new Group to be constituted', so that the matter can be taken up comprehensively. Accordingly, the President, in terms of the authority conferred to him by the Council at its 331st meeting held from 10th to 12th February, 2014, has constituted a Group for the aforesaid purpose comprising the following:-

• CA. Shiwaji B. Zaware, Convenor

• CA. S. Santhanakrishnan

• CA. Abhihjit Bandyopadhyay

• CA. Sanjiv Kumar Chaudhary

• CA. Shriniwas Y. Joshi

• CA. Nilesh Shivji Vikamsey

• CA. G. Sekar

• CA. Shyam Lal Agarwal

• CA. Vijay Kumar Gupta

Dr. P.T. Giridharan, Joint Secretary would act as Secretary to the above Group.

Further, while considering Issue No.5, i.e. `Effective training opportunities for students (articles assistants) in the profession of Chartered Accountants' under the aforesaid Item No.62, the Council had decided that since two reports currently are available on the same item, the issues identified by both the Groups shall be referred to a new Group to be constituted for its examination. Accordingly, the President, in terms of the authority conferred to him by the Council at its 331st meeting held from 10th to 12th February, 2014, has constituted a Group for the aforesaid purpose comprising the following:-

• CA. Nihar N. Jambusaria

• CA. Shayam Lal Agarwal

• CA. Mukesh Singh Kushwah

• CA. Atul Kumar Gupta

Shri H.K. Jain, Joint Secretary and Head, NRO would act as Secretary to the aforesaid Group.
