What is mis?

below are the Features of MIS.....

1)MIS is a system which is not directly related to operations but it provides useful informations which are used in operation control and management decision making ie it is an operation support system.

2) It is used to provide informations to managers only but used by top and middle level management for strategic and tactical decision making .lower level managers ie magagers at supervisory or operational level does not use MIS instead they use TPS.

3) MIS is generally available in form of reports ,tables ,graphs and charts.

4)MIS at different levels has different flavour for example MIS at top level is more comprehensive,summarised and condensed than middle level.
