What does status -ITR processed mean?

Hi,

What does status - "ITR processed" under "eFiles Return Forms" option mean? Does it mean that all processing for that AY has been done?

Will no further demand and refund calculation will be done?

YES, ITR IS ULTIMATELY PROCESSED AND NO FUTURE NOTICE FOR DEMAND OR REFUND WILL BE SENT.

I have income below tax criteria (250000) and I had never filled up ITR . Now I want to fill it so ...

1). How much past years can be filled for ITR without penalty .

1.The status under my webpage of IT dept says "ITR process Completed". Does it not mean , my return is accepted & I am not required to take any further action?

2. But the next column(Status Descripttion) says " Please click here to submit rectification request". In fact all the figures in both columns{"As Provided by Taxpayer in Return of Income" & "As Computed Under Section 143(1)" } of the Intimation under U/s 143(1) match. I do not find any rectification to be done. How do I proceed?

@ Subramanian.,
Intimation 143 (1) is commonly send to all assessee for matched. If mismatch, demand, refund and any other then it ll be shown sub code under 143 (1)
So you check it on compliance section.......

If the status of your return shows ‘successfully verified’, it means that you have submitted and duly verified your return. But the ITR has not been processed yet. If the status of your return shows ‘processed’, it means that the return is successfully processed by the department without any discrepancies. Typically, after a return is processed , an intimation is sent under Section 143(1) of the Income Tax Act, 1961. In most cases it’s just an intimation stating that the return has been successfully processed. Tax refund is paid when the ITR is processed and the claim of the taxpayer is accepted by the department.
