Validation rules for itr1

453 views 2 replies

I filed return in ITR1 Sahaj. I filled "income from salary" in sr no 41 of ITR1 from form 16. I picked up value "Income under head salary" from form 16 for this purpose as usual. It is figure after deduction under sec 10

Salary figure uploaded in 26AS in TDS1 is gross salary without any deduction and as given in form 16.

While loading X M L file I got a message with "!" mark "Income detail/part BTI is less than 90% of salary reported in shedule TDS1", On clicking OK, it allowed me to upload X M L file and I got ITRV in my e-mail.

Can someone explain what is this and what repercussion it will have when return is processed? I understand that there are some validation rules, but am confused due to complete lack of clarity. If there is some error why did it allow me to upload return?

Please help.

Thanks.

Its a mark that you dont gravitate your salary for the cause of tax saving. If you have adequate proofs of all your income, you dont need to worry. You should be able to explain your return figures if ever they send a notice.

Thanks for a clear reply!
