Unable to clear ca hence considering mba

Friends I have attempted CA final 4 times still no hope of clearing it. Hence I am considering an MBA from the WELLINGKER INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT via distance education. Please comment on my decision of doing MBA. Do I proceed or not?

I would like to say that plz don't give up try honestly u can clear it

& Don't think about MBA & all...either by it distance or regular, there is no value for it

There is no such a course which is equal to CA CWA, CS

I suggest you work very hard and do both CA and MBA from a top B-school.. distance course has 0 value where as MBA from IIM/similar rank institute is much much better than CA degree...CA + MBA is like double dhamaka...Im also facing same prob..I will join LLB next year

I often see the discussion of CA vs MBA. I strongly believe MBAs from IIMs are looting all opportunities of CA in industry, they are enjoying an upperhand...Are you CA? Even if not i wana ask some questions. May I? I always want to ask questions to people in managerial roles..

Hi...im putting up my questions...

I'm currently employed in ca firm. I have always dreamt of reaching new heights in our profession in the corporate world. I know knowledge and skills are the only means of survival and there is no end for learning and attempts don't matter at all in the long run. I hate doing excel and tax compliance job which has minimal brain application and value addition. My research says people of majority of the small and mid size ca firms have 1) Poor communication skill 2) Poor knowledge - general & subject 3) Outdated technical skills 4) No creativity 5) Only accounting ability and no managerial ability. We do not want to waste our life doing the above. We also want to kickstart the growth engine of our career. There are plethora of opportunities in the industry which are mainly grabbed by mba grads from IIM/other top Bschools. Their knowledge, attitude, confidence, skills and pay always make ca's uncomfortable and unfortunately we don't even know that we are restricting ourselves to majorly monotonous work. Actually whats cooking at IIMs. What is their speciality?? Answes i found was Knowledge and Communication skills. I hereby request you to kindly provide me some info on this issue and also emerging areas/trends in the industry like Data analytics, cloud computing, fintech startups etc; how and where we need to improve our knowledge and skills and what does it take to be the finance head of MNC's. Most of the people don't respond and those who respond are not giving convincing answers.

I strongly agree with you. When it comes to corporates its either the MBA(top10) or CFAs who rule the world. But the distance edu program offers placement assistance as well. That is the main reason I gave thought about it.

All I have observed is if you want to study mba, do it regular course from a top b. school. Dis edu or mba from low level institute has no recognition and no value in big MNCs, waste of time...

Welingkar is a good college. But distance education will not add much value. Get a regular MBA instead. There are many other good colleges in mumbai like SP Jain, Jamanlal Bajaj, TISS and Narsee Monjee.
