Tips for completing accounting questions faster

Hi,

I wonder, how some people finish the accounts paper really fast. Even when I am good at a question, and wasting no time in thinking, I use about 1,5 minutes per expected alloted mark to such a question.

Do you guys write all working notes in the exams? or for example, if a balance sheet is required, you only present the balance sheet, without the schedules?

Do you underline each heading?

Do you write things such as "particulars" on account formats?

hi.

It all depends on practice, more you solve questions, your question solving speed will increase.and other thing is calculations, few are very good in maths...basic things like add, sum, multiply, percent, division, etc etc these things looks very small but it saves lots of time if you are good in this.

Balance sheet without schedules?if adjustments are there you have to prepare schedules,  marks are alloted for schedules.and imp is "No shortcuts", if you are trying to solve questions without sch and working notes, chances are there you will commit mistakes , calcuations mistake or debit credit mistakes. This is my personal exp. I had the habbit of solving question in calculator itself, without working notes, but in case of any mistake or error I had to again do the same process because of non-availability of any written working notes.

underline or bold or any beautification work is should be the  last job, after completing the paper. My suggestion is last 5-10 mins ur mind will not be in a position to solve typical CA questions, because of time pressure.that time u keep for underline imp points  or revision like roll no. mentioned correctly, all sub-parts of a question answered etc.

All the best!!

thanks a lot!! That was a really good answer to my question...!!
