My friend is an associate with whom I selectively work on certain projects. In one of them, billing has been done by him and the client has paid the fee after deducting TDS. Since my friend is an individual and does not have a TAN, he is unable to deduct TDS on his payment to me and cannot issue  a TDS Certificate. However, he says that he can give a copy of his TDS and a declaration of my share of TDS eligible based on my share of the payment he is to make to me. Is the procedure right? How do I resolve this please?
