I filed Quarter TDS Return today 18/07/2012.
whether i also filed challan of Default today itself or at the time of query raised.

According to me you should have paid the default fees before filing ITDS Return.

If you have not filed Quarterly Return on time penalty of Rs. 100/- per day will be leviable for the period of Default...but maximum penalty would be limited to the amount of TDS.
