good morning to all experts,
i have a query abt. tds on pension, supoose a men is retired army captian.after retirement he did not job anywhere. he rec. only pension 20000. than will he rec. pension deduct tds @ 10%. if yes than where he will get form 16a.

IF TDS IS DEDUCTED THEN FORM 16 WILL BE ISSUED BY THE BANK FROM WHERE HE IS RECEIVING PENSION AFTER DEDUCTING TDS.

yup. form 16 can be recd. from the bank in which such pension is recd.

yes, bank shd take form 16 from you, they may have forgotton, now give form 16 to bank. if already deducted you have to file return , yes meet the PRO of your relevant I T O/ A O please friend

Please read the sub para 5 of Para 8 of CBDT issued by the Govt in May 2011 for better clearity.Their PDA (Bank or trasery) is responsible to deduct the TDS is liable otherwise their (pensioner's) investments/expenses can easly cover the the same it is not a big ammonut ............
