07 September 2015The provisions of Section 194A are to be tested in this question. Do the TDS apply to the Deposits of the Co-operative Societies with the Bank? In specific, what about the deposits of Co-op Housing Societies with the banks? Do the TDS provisions apply?

Yes. TDS provisions do apply to CHS deposits with the bank

But practically many co-op banks are not applying TDS on deposits of Housing Societies. Now the question arises how do we take clear stand..

15G form need to be submitted every year in April for that FY.

Yes Co-op. hsg. Soc also have a pan no and can file return under itr 5
