NRI client had not declared income from Capital Gain in PY 21-22 in his ITR since buyer of property didn't paid TDS in PY 21-22. Now the TDS was paid in PY 23-24 and client wants to declare capital gain income in PY 22-23 and claim TDS paid now. Can he do so and how to claim TDS in this case.

Check form 16B, how can buyer pay TDS for FY 2022-23, when the deal was registered in FY 2021-22?

Sir, TDS was paid with FY 21-22 in TDS challan in this July , can client declare income in PY 22-23 and claim TDS in PY 22-23

It will be difficult to get the TDS adjustment in next FY.
Rather file updated return for AY 2022-23.
