One of my company's employee is not getting refund of tax for f.y. 2007-08 as the nsdl site is not showing any credit of tds whivh our company has deducted. on verification of our tds returns, it was found that his pan no. was wrongly quoted in the returns. now he is asking to file revised returns for all the four quarters of 2007-08. is there any other way out thru which he can get his refund and we don't have to file revised return?

under these circumstances there is no set procedure to be followed..
I WOULD SUGGEST U TO FILE A SIMPLE APPLICATION (ON BEHALF OF EMPLOYEE) TO THE ASSESSING OFFICER ASKING HIM THE REQUIRED COURSE OF ACTION IN THIS CASE..
IF HE SUGGEST REVISION OF RETUTN THEN U HAVE NO OTHER OPTION..
SO JUST MAKE A FORMAL APPLICATION TO THROUGH THE BALL INTHE COURT OF AO..

According to me you have to revise the TDS return. That is the simplest way to take the credit of TDS.
