Dear Sir,
Under what section is the excemtpion limit for deduction of TDS for consultant.
A lawyer issusing a invoice of8000/- as professional charges, is TDS required to be deducted.
Please provide any Government Order on the same.

in case of professional charges u/s. 194D the limit for deduction of TDS is Rs. 30,000/- .
if total payment or single payment exceeds Rs. 30,000/- can eligible to deduct TDS
so in this case not require to deduct.

If i have an advocate who gives me charges Rs. 2000/- for an assignment. He issues individual invoice for his assignment. but in a financial year we might oay him total of 50,000/- on different assignments. then?

If the amount exceeds Rs. 30,000/- in a financial year, TDS will be deducted for earlier amount also for that year.

What are the permissible deductions under the IT Act from a consultant's income and what are the proofs required to claim such deductions?
