TDS deducted but not deposited....

If tds is deducted but not deposited by the deductor before filing ROI under 139(1),

deductee reduced the tds amount from total tax liability and paid the remaining as self assessment tax

Whether deductee is liable to pay tds amount also, because it won't appear in 26AS ????

No. unless the deductor do not file revised TDS return and pay the liability.

In that case, Query will be raised for the demand of the outstanding amount, which needs to be justified.

Ask your deductor to submit amount to govt so that you can take credit of TDS for ur tax liablity , otherwise you have to deposit tax on said amount .
