TDS cut but not shown in 26AS.

There is a difference between the interest promised while opening a FD and the interest credited after the FD got matured. The difference amount is 2288 which was neither refunded to us nor it was submitted to the IT department as it is now shown in 26AS.

The customer is a tax payer and we had to pay the 2288 again for the last financial year. The bank is SBI.

What could be done now?

Contact the bank, ask for details. They will rectify. Bank will provide detail of tax deducted. Match this with 26AS detail

YES, YOU SHOULD CONTACT TO BANK AND ASK TO THEM OF DETAIL LIKE YOUR FD STATEMENT AND TDS FORM 16 AFTER THAT YOU CAN TALLY WITH YOUR 26 AS

We have contacted the bank before, but they did not give detailed information, we will contact again. Thank you for the reply.

If u have asked for deatils from bank and they are not giving you the same.

So u shud take up 26AS to bank manager of concerned branch and bring to his notice your case and the diffrnce of 2288. It will surely help you.

We will take all the required documents and will try to settle with the bank itself, if that does not work, then we will go to the head office. Thank you for the reply.
