if Indian nagrik (citizen) is Indian tax resident as well then yes. tax credit can be claimed for tax paid in America under DTAA
example: if tax liable in India is 50000 and us mein already 60000 diya, then nothing more to be paid in India. if you have paid say 40000 in Us then remaining 10000 to be paid in India.
