Dear All,

Greetings!

Ours is a software development private limited company. We would like to file income tax, service tax returns on or before 31st Mar'12. We have PAN, TAN, Import & Export Code and Service tax numbers. Can we file all the tax returns in single form or do we need to file separately? In this financial year we just earned money < INR50K and for that we already paid the service tax. Now, pls. let us know how to file the returns online and what are the items that we can include in it. Thanks in advance.

Income tax and service tax are two completey different.

Income tax returns can be filed before 30 september 2012 for the financial year 2011-12

Whereas service tax has two components ie depositing service tax, and filing service tax returns. Service tax returns has to be filed half yearly ie from april-sept in the month of october, and from oct-mar in the month of 31st march.

Service tax is 10.3% on the invoice, whereas income tax is 30% + 2% + 1% on the profit earned during the financial year.
