Final clarification of all such differences on different forms of tamarind will be notified by CBEC from time to time.
At present you can presume that the tamarind in raw form will be at zero percentage.
Any processed or packaged and/or labelled in different modes will fall under 5%.
Govt has launched this app named gst rate finder by cbec. Check the rate of gst any article in this app.
For Tamarind it's showing two HSN codes and both are exempted only. So it's 100% clear that it stands exempted.
