Tally erp - import data

Hi Friends,

We have 2 divisions in a company. We are maintaining seperate books of account for each division in Tally erp. By wrongly we have created one ledger(bank a/c) in second division which now we want to import it to first division with all transactions.

We exported that ledger into xml format and later on by using import of data option, tried to import that particular ledger. But it was not updating.

Can anyone please explain me with proper procedure to import a particular ledger from one division to another division?

Hi friend,

Yes ofcourse, you can import your particular ledger from another company, pls follow the below points.

1) Day book - press F12 - Voucher (having) Ledger (with) Name (Containing) Ledger name

2) ALT+E (for export)

3) chose format as XML

4) Then you can import that file thro Import of Data - Vouchers - Enter the file name (with .xml)

Some errors related to currency etc were coming, but by using 'ignore errors and continue during data import' option in system configuration, we solved it.....
