I have 100 no. equity shares of Ranabaxy. Ranbaxy is going to be merged with Sunpharma. Record date is 7th April.2015.
How to pass entry after merger in Tally.

Hi Amrit,
You have shares of Ranbaxy and hence after merger you will get shares in the merged company.
So just what you have to do is create a ledger in the name of the merged company under gruop investment, if your are holding it as investment. After that through Journal pass the following entry.
Shares in Merged Company Account.............Dr. (The amount should be same as your To Shares in Ranbaxy Account present holding in ranbaxy.)
