SSI Unit is yet to be registered under Central Excise law. However, purchased Capital goods and installed in the premises. After crossing the SSI limits of Rs 1.5 Crores, they are intending to avail Capital goods credit on the capital goods purchased earlier. Is there any violation of the provisions.

to avail excise input credit u have to get your excise registration number communicated to vendor, without registration, ( registered assessee have option to avail 150 lacs exemption also), one can not avail capital goods input,

in case of new units only capital goods are allowed pre registration.
