hello everyone..here im giving u a way to score good marks in direct taxes paper..this is just one way and im sure there are other ways also to score in this paper. Book needed here is padhukas direct taxes referencer(Ay 2014-15). First go to institute website and check latest amendments and case laws applicable for ur exams and take a highlighter pen/light sketch pen and mark it in the book..dont read recent amendments n case laws separately..just mark it and read it when u read that particular topic..Idea here is to connect the amendments n court observation with the principles n concepts when ur preparing notes there itself in that book.. Then read wealth tax and just master that topic..make good notes there and make sure u revise that a day before exam also..here full 10 marks is on the cards.. Then go after part 1 which is income tax basics..here fast track referencer will be of great help for revision..here lot of simple things u may require to make note of..still make it..exemption from capital gains may look simple but in the exam day it may not look that simples..with pencil make note of key simple things so that frenshness remains intact when u open that page next time..make flowcharts for companies co op society trusts..Once u come to non residents and international transactions start treating this paper as a full fledged theory paper like law.. confusing part starts when u come to assessment, search, settlement, rectification etc..here take a rough book and make notes n flowcharts in a simple way in a way u understand..just turn back n keep updating this notes.in the end a time will come when this will start looking easy.. At last go to tds and advance tax part and just master these small topic..just make good notes there itself to help u in that 45 hour exam gap.. Friends,as i said earlier this may not be a only way to score in this paper..in cci u have seen many people recommending books from other authors..but idea of making notes will still remain the same.doesnt matter which authors book ur referring to still u have to have a strategy .Query/comments are welcomed..All the best.
