Th,e date of signing of the balance sheet by the auditor will alwys be the date of approving the accounts by the directors or any future date. The reason is technically the accounts are audited and report issued only after the accounts are approved by the directors. Since that may create delays in finalising accounts, it is always on the same date of the board meeting when the accounts are approved by the board. Additionally there are other issues under companies act, whereby, if any qualifaiction is made in the audit report then the directors report must deal with the smae and explain the reasons etc. for the qualification.

A director obviously has to sign on the date on which the board approves the accounts

thanks .....
