Short deduction in tds

An employer short deducted an amount of an employee. The short deduction notice was issued by income tax department to the employer. The same amount reflected as demand in employee pan also and notice of demand issued to employee. The employee deposited the demand amount with interest and settled. But demand still persists in employer tan that is in traces site. What the employer can do in this case?
