I wanted to know what are the books of accounts generally being maintained by a share trader ?

Dear Shashin -

One can expect followings -

1) Books - Journal, ledgers, P/L A/c & Balance Sheet

2) Bank statements

3) Demat Account Statements/Ledgers

4) Trading Account statements/Ledgers

5) Contract Notes

6) Dividend warrants/Counterfoils

7) Counterfoils of IPO/FPO/RIght Issue applications

8) All relevant correspondences like in relation to bonus, split, consolidation, amalgamation, etc

I am sure you will be able to extend this list.
