Service tax on penalty
Dear Experts
Our company is collecting rent from our customers and also collecting service tax on such rent.
As per the agreement if the client pays the rent after the due date the company collects a charge (penalty).
Is service tax is applicable on such penalty??

As I understand, such penalty is also in the nature of income only and hence ST is applicable.
