Service tax input credit

we are a trader ,a pvt ltd firm,we pay service tax under reverse charge on account of freight for goods received. our electricity ,telephone and many other such utilities is also registered in the name of the firm so my query is since we pay service tax on mobile telephone bill which is registered in the name of the firm.can we take service tax input credit of the service tax paid to such utilities?

You have to determine whether the mobile phone service that you have used meets the definition of 'input service' given in sub-rule (l) of Rule 2 of Cenvat Credit Rules, 2004. If you meet the criteria given in the definition, you can take the credit.

Sir, as i have said we are traders of chemical,it would be great if you would help me with the information.

You cannot get credits of the service tax paid against RCM liability.
