Ok. Ssx is a stock index. Underlying the index is 30 stocks. The number representing Ssx is derived from the prices of these 30 stocks. There is a method of aggregating and weighting these stock prices.
The movement in the Ssx tells us something about collective movement of these 30 stocks. However since these 30 stocks are the most prominent stocks in the stock exchange, they kind of represent the whole market; though not precisely.
