Salary income from saudi remitted in india

Tax queries 250 views 4 replies

I have one query that what will be the income tax implications in India if someone who is citizen of India and went to Saudi for employment and remitting some money in India to his family. Important point is that in Saudi there is no income tax. So whether amount remitted in India is taxable? Please guide in both the case if he is Ordinary Resident and Not Ordinary Resident.

For ROR total salary received in Saudi will be taxable in India.

For NRI or RNOR, the amount remitted from personal bank account to self or family member's account will not be taxable.

Ok Sir Thank You but suppose if person is RNOR than in that case whether he need to require to disclose income earned abroad in ITR. Since he only has FD income from India and bank deducted TDS on it. So at the time of filing of ITR for claiming refund do we need to disclose income earned abroad?

For RNOR, income accrued or earned out of India is not taxable, and hence need not be declared in ITR,
