We have received an intimation u/s 200A of the Income Tax Act, 1961 suggestiong to pay certain amount as TDS in form of Short Payment, Interest on short payment, Interest on late payment Late Filing Fee u/s 234E . After paying this tax, is there a need to file revise TDS returns ?

Yes it is advisable to file correction statement duly adding the challan under challan details so that the revised default list generated subsequently will shown NIL tax demand..

Agreed with Rachit.Just met with TRACES people couple of days ago and It is now mendatory for filing of revise return once you pay the demad else status of demand won't be nil.

Agree with Rachit & Vikas. When you contact the TRACES Call center, they will advise you to file the revised return after paying off the demand so that it gets updated in your records.

UNDER THE HEADING FEES

Have a doubt... Since it is system generated.... If i revise my return without paying the demand... Will system accept and wht would be its effect on demand amt?
