Replied in : Why did the rupee decline?
Posted by : I.S.P.K on 19 June 2013

  1. Dollar strength: The dollar index is up nearly 5 per cent this year on signs of growing economic momentum and talk of an early end to the Fed's stimulus effort. Most global currencies have weakened against the dollar including India's rupee.

  2. Weakness in domestic equities: The BSE Sens*x has fallen nearly 4 per cent over the last week. The selloff has been triggered by foreign institutional investors, who have sold about Rs. 3,900 crore worth of index futures in the last four trading sessions. This is a hedging move as FIIs expect stocks (cash segment) to fall in the near term, traders said. FIIs have been a key support for markets (and the rupee) after buying a net $15.38 billion (Rs. 90,000 crore) worth of shares this year as of Wednesday's close.

  3. Demand from oil importers: India has to import crude oil to meet its domestic requirement. Traders say there has been continuous demand for the greenback from oil importers, the biggest buyers of dollars in the domestic currency market, pushing the rupee lower. Oil and gold imports account for 35 per cent and 11 per cent of India's trade bill respectively.

  4. Gold imports: Gold imports hit 162 tonnes in May, twice the monthly average of 2011 when they reached a record. Gold is the second most expensive import for the country after crude oil. Falling gold prices have offset the government's and the central bank's moves to reduce gold imports, which increase current account deficit and weighs on the currency. India's current account deficit was equivalent to a record 6.7 per cent of gross domestic product in December.

  5. Weak economic fundamentals: Moses Harding of IndusInd Bank told NDTV that weak economy and no signs of a quick fix solution are weighing on the rupee. The UPA government is unlikely to deliver far reaching reforms to generate heavy capital inflows, as it did last September to stave off the loss of India's investment grade credit rating, experts say.

For Anamika..

When it comes to motivation, it can be broken down into two categories: negative motivation and positive motivation. Negative motivation is "push" motivation... you are trying to push something you don't like away from you. Positive motivation is "pull" motivation... you are trying to bring something that you DO want closer to you.
Negative motivation is very good for getting you moving. It provides a sharp stimulus that is congruent with out instincts... that thing is unpleasant, get away from it. Our instincts don't make a distinction, in this case, between physical unpleasantness and mental unpleasantness... either way, our instinct is just to get away.

This can work very well... if your doctor tells you that you have cancer, and that unless you do what they say you are going to die, that provides some really strong motivation to change your ways and do what they say. The motivation is sharp, strong, and focused... do what you need to (what the doctor tells you) in order to avoid something unpleasant (dying of cancer). Since motivation is linked to action by way of a cost/benefit ratio, you can see that the cost (doing what the doctor tells you) is very low in comparison to the benefit (not dying).

Negative motivation has a very definite weakness, however. It can be quite strong, enough to get you moving when other things wouldn't, but what happens when you take the negative stimulus away? The motivation dries up almost instantly.

In other words, once you feel like you are safe from whatever the unpleasantness was, there is no more motivation from that source, though you may keep up whatever changes you have made out of habit.
..

hope you got ur answer now...

Your first attempt will be Nov 2016.

For giving May 2016 attempt, one must complete his 3 years of articleship including extension, if any, on or before 31st Oct 2016, which is not so in your case.

I am sure about your attempt so do not get confused with the views given above. Your attempt will be Nov 2016.

All the best.

Dear All,

As the Format is not specified anywhere, my query is, IF the LLP is not in revenue operations and is not carrying any manufacturing activity as it is in nature to provide services, then how one can make such Declaration under MSME Act.

Kindly suggest, and it would be of great help to provide any such format of declaration on my matter.

Thanks in Advance

Nakul Patil,

CS Final Aspirant .

Yes It should be Capitalised since life of Laptop got increased but in Practical Life we don't capitalise it because if we capitalise it then only 60% of that expense will be allowed as it will form part of Laptop which carry 60% of Depreciation rate as per IT Act.

& if we book it as an Expense the deduction of 100% will be allowed since you showed it as a revenue expenditure( General Reapirs & Maintainance)
