If you have working experience of say for example 3 years in the recognised institutions and in recognised areas prescribed by ICWAI, you can claim for exemption, so that you can gets exemption for 2.5 years. For balance period, you need to work. There is no restriction for now to do articles at a certain time. You can do it even after Inter/Final exams of CWA. However, to avail this training exemption, in my view, you need to apply to CWA Institute claiming for exemption with relevant documents within 45 days from the date of registering yourself as CWA Inter Student.

Hi friends,

Is there any expetion to the rule that is a person fails to claim exemption within 45 days from registration, what is the procedure he need to adopt and is there any one who did it???

Regards,

In my view, for your query, it is advisable to clarify from the Chapter Office for correct answer. Because in its FAQ, it has not mentioned any procedure that can be adopted.

Hi

thanks for your prompt reply

but i tried to figure this out with the chapter, but all they said was send and wait............. that sound strange to me but reply for quick to make me unconfortable there.......

so just wanna check with you guys, whether any one of you got exemption post 45 days of registration.

aditya-u din had to give entrance exam of icwa...??????

thnx krishna...but what if i finished my icwa finals after c.a and then go for working in a company and later on apply for exemption??? the faq section of icwai is really very confusing as it says in one place that one must apply for exemption between 45 days of registering as a student and in another palce it says that one can be granted exemption on completion of required work experience of 3 years....there is absolutely no clarity on the part of the institute!!!!!!

@ shruti-yes,i did.....

@ Aditya

Yes, there was no clarity in it. But what i know is for claiming training exemption, one should fill Form T-3. And Form T-3 is to be filled by such students who are already in employment at the time of registration. After completing the CWA Final exams, you can use Grad. CWA status after your name. Only after completing practical training requirement, you can be eligible to apply for Associate Membership. One of the requirement for getting exemption is one should work in an organization having turnover of Rs.5 crore in the previous year.

But I was wondered, it seems you are already in CA IPCC and CS courses. Once you start articleship in CA, you are not allowed to take up more than one additional course at a time. Which means, you cannot pursue CWA after you joining CA Articles. Because by that time you already having CS course. For this one course also, you need to apply to CA Institute in Form 112 and should take permission.

yes,i would appear for icwai(inter) before c.a articles and then would stop it there..i won't be able to appear for icwai finals because of the changed training rules which mandates atleast 6 months training to appear for icwai finals.so along with c.a articleship i would be pursuing c.s and later on after i am done with c.a then i would go for cwa finals...that's the reason why i wanted to get some clarification as to whether this startegy could be adopted to get exemption or do i have drop the icwa course altogether for now...anyways, thnx for the help!!!!!
