Can anyone plz tell what does pre - aquisition dividend mean ?

Pre acquisition dividend means A company which pays dividend before it is being acquired/ taken over by another company. Such dividend must be taken to investment A/c and reserves A/c before acquisiton and should not be clubbed with after acquisition reserves
