Best Book for SFM is V Pattabhi Ram & S D Bala
JB Gupta Book is Best book and rich in conceptual clarity not much bulky like AN sridhar.

If you could get hold of Adity Jain Sir's notes (If you can that is!), I think you would be very well versed with all the topics in SFM!
I would recomend j b gupta. It gives clear idea about concepts behind every portion. I think that what realy counts for exams

S.D Bala's book is best for self study.
A.N.Sridhar & JB Gupta are good
A N Sridhar is best book.The presentation of solved problems and theory separately makes it more pleasant......No unnecessary or bulky explantion......
