Open a branch in another state

how to open a branch in another state. .

We have VAT and CST in rajasthan and want to open new branch uin gujarat.

What do we need to do? DO we need new CST VAT numbers?

Ok. So as per my knowledge, there is exemption limit of Rs. 5  Lakh in VAT  in local state sales in gujarat.

So, is it must to get a VAT number at the time of registration or applying at later stage will work?

What other documents / formalities / registrations are required?

You need separate registration in Gujarat. For that purpose who have to apply to department along with application, the address proof and Pan card copy. you can submit application form online, or manual method. Within 15 to 20 days you will get VAT and CST Number. Visit  http://commercialtax.gujarat.gov.in/vatwebsite/index.jsp

According to CA Devanshi, there is no need to take another CST number and only new VAT is required but as per your advice, we need to have new registration for CST and VAT both?

And is there any way of application other than 25000 Rs + 20000 Rs security deposit?

In Rajasthan, we can have two guarantees and all done. Any such provision in Gujarat?

Gujarat You don't require any guarantor but Security deposit you have to make.

If you selling (Interstate Sales)  any product from Gujarat, Gujarat State  is the appropriate State and you should pay CST to Gujarat State. So that you require CST Registration. If you are not making any interstate sales from Gujarat, No CST Registration is required. At any way Rajasthan CST Can't use in Gujarat State.

Yes, we will be doing Interstate Sales. So, for CST/VAT we have to do total deposit of 20,000 Rs. +  25,000 Rs. in Total. Any other Option for this investment?

Hi,

you need to apply for the vat registration with loal vat office in gujarat, with necessary documents like rental agreement / own building reistration copy.

if you are going to do inter state sales then the vat number is mandatory due to  check post transactions.

if you r going to do local sales within gujarat and your turn over is less then prescribed limit - no need to do the registration.

But doing vat registration is good to business activities and transactions.
