Can you please help with appropraite links where i can refer Income Tax Rules w.r.t income accrued and recieved abroad by Non Resident
Also, I want to understand how can the money be transferred back to India through NRE accounts and is there any other way to transfer funds in such a way it is exempt from tax

Refer the following :
Section 5 : https://law.incometaxindia.gov.in/DIT/Income-tax-acts.aspx , search section 5.
Section 195 : https://law.incometaxindia.gov.in/DIT/Income-tax-acts.aspx , similarly search sec 195.
Transfer NRE A/C : https://www.hsbc.co.in/1/2/personal/nri-services/usa/usa-nre-account
you can prefer any other bank, procedure will be the same.
