03 January 2014I have a query regarding filling of return by an NRI. Suppose i am an NRI, workin as a salaried employee in Singapore. Then do i need to file an income tax return in india?? Again, Suppose, besides the salary from Singapore, i am also earning interest income in india. Do i need to file a return in that case??
Please reply. its urgent.

If your stay in India is less than 182 days among other conditions then you dont need to pay tax on salary income earned in singapore.
Further interest income is taxable(exempt if earned from specified investments) and you need to be file return for it if it exceeds basic exemption limit.
