hello frnds & experts,

i have some of my savings which i want to invest in mutual funds just to get knowledge about the system that how it all works & along with generate some returns ...so want to know how i can invest in mutual funds a lumpsum money online (a detailed procedure)...

further i also want to make some investment in insurance not in ULIPs but in some term plans (i am 23 of age)...

Hi Vipul.

U can invest in MF by visiting the respective MF Websites.

I would advise u to invest by way of SIP s rather than a Lumpsum.
Some of the MF which has given a Good returns over a period of time are:

1) HDFC Top 200

2) Franklin India bluechip

3) UTI Equity fund (G)

4) Fidelity Equity fund Growth etc.

It may look very strange when everyone is advocating Mutual Fund Sip for long term, what is the necessity for this debate on ‘Is Mutual Fund SIP for Short term or long term?’.

The objective of the fund or the use to which the funds would be put to would be a vital deciding factor. Mutual funds investing in stocks would suit those that are ready to take more risks; stocks means more exposure to the volatile market though higher returns.
