Guidance to pass CWA intermediate both stages in June 09

Hi All,

I am an MBA in Marketing and Enterprenuership and I work as a software engineer.

I plan study 5 hours a day for the next 6 months to prepare for Both stages of the inter exams

I request guidance as to what all i should do and that i should not do

As well as what are the books or materials from which teacher for CWA will help me passing all the 6 subjects

Can any of you share me the materials that you used to write and pass these 6 subjects

Stage -1

5) Financial Accounting

6)Commercial and Industrial Laws and Auditing

7) Applied Direct Taxation

Stage-2

8)Cost and Management Accounting

9)Operation Management and Information system

10)Applied Indirect Taxation

In simple terms dont do a lot of research on what to learn and what not to learn. It doesnt work in a professional examination. Expect the unexpected.

What to do:

1. Its good that you are doing both groups together.

2. Ensure that you know the study materials inside out. You should finish reading from the first page till the last page of the study material of each subject at least once COMPULSORY. Somehow, magically it gives a lot of confidence. This confidence building is what is important.

3. Do past papers. Suggested answers. If you want to refer any books always refer to the recommended authors which are listed in the prospectus.

4. For direct and indirect tax papers ensure that you are updated and also read the supplements that the Institute provides.

5. For Accountancy (Cost or Financial) practice as many problems as you can.

6. Focus on understanding than roting and by hearting.

7. It eventually boils down to those three hours. Keep your confidence high at all times (easier said than done).

8. Never loose sight of the reason/purpose why you started to do this course in the first place.

9. Take pride in the fact that when you eventually do pass you will be one among the minority of 2 in every 100 that attempt.

10. Leave the rest to God.
