Rita Bahuguna Joshi Congress party state president in the state of UP used some bad language in her speech, everyone accept it. She begged apology for slip of tongue and regretted for the same, all understand and have sympathy for Rita Joshi.
Mayawati CM in UP, in her usual style of taking revenge from her political rivals booked Rita Bahuguna under various non-bailable sections of IPC including SCST act .And in the morning itself Rita was sent to jail which may appear as if the UP administration is the quickest in action when there is case of attrocities on Dalit woman. Rita is now under 14 day’s judicial custody as per the instruction of the magistrate.
Here one point to be noted is that when Mr. Varun Gandhi BJP leader used some bad language during recently concluded election and regretted for the same quickly, entire non-BJP parties and Congress party in particular thought it fit to support the whimsical action of Mayawati government. Now the same Congress party or any other party has got no moral right to question Mayawati on the matter of arrest of Rita Bahuguna.
Varun was booked under National Security Act which is more dangerous. It should be a matter of pleasure for Congress men that Rita is not booked under NSA. Instead of making much hue and cry against the arrest of Rita, they should rather celebrate that she is not booked under NSA. Congress party still considers the arrest of Varun because he was considered as a threat to Congress party’s probability of victory in the election.
Secondly it has been the practice and habit of leaders of ruling political party or group to teach a lesson to his rivals and especially to those who poses threat for their survival and progress in politics. Smt Indira Gandhi booked all leaders of opposition parties in the morning when she was defeated in an election petition filed by his opponent Mr. Raj Narayan . But when all opposition parties fought united they won the battle and Smt Gandhi got the worst kind of defeat in the succeeding election.
In the present case political parties are not united against the dictatorial, arbitrary and whimsical rule of Mayawati in UP. And this is why Mayawati has been working in totally undemocratic way. She transfers even IAS and IPS officers as if her home servants. She used so many criminal background MPs to eliminate her political rivals.
So far as derogatory remarks used by Rita against Mayawati or against any community is concerned, it is but natural that there will be violent reaction from the community or party which is hurt.And it was this reaction that the house and cars of Rita were burnt by the mob, may be of BSP or may be sponsered by Mayawati supporters.
When a bogey of Hindu was burnt in Gujarat, there was large scale violent reaction from the hurt community and prolonged riot in Gujarat. It is again pity that instead of punishing the guilty the rival political parties started abusing Gujarat Government and all non BJP political parties continue to do politics on the same. In case of Rita only a few objectionable words were used against a community but in case of Godhra incident a bogey full of Hindu were burnet alive.
When Indira Gandhi was murdered in 1984 all congress workers throughout the country created unprecedented havoc in the country killing and damaging Sikh life and property. Here also the difference is that only one leaders of Congress party was killed by her own bodyguard, may be Sikh and in revenge hundreds of Sikhs were killed. But in case of hundred of Hindus were burnt alive but none of None-BJP parties tried to Condemn and punish the guilty.
Congress party as such has got no moral right to preach sermon to Mayawati who has learnt this dirty politics from none other than Congress leaders.
