	Hi All, What is the last date for filing of the service tax return for the half year ending 31st March, 2010. Is it 25th April, 2010. This question is raised since an advertisement in the Times dated 29/03/2010 says ' All returns should be filed till 31/3/2010.'

	Hi Sachin Gupts, As per Rules it is 25th only, 31-03-2010 is due date for payment of Service tax.

	Hi Sachin Gupta, I have read the advertisement it clearly says that it is payment of service tax and not return. I have read the Mumbai Edition.

	yesi also got confused with the times of india ad the wording states 31st of march 2010 is the last date . couple of friends also called after seeing the ad . The dept clarified that it is only 25th april 2010 . ofcourse the ad is confusing . i think they should change the wording .

	Yes the date of payment is restricted to 31st of the same month but for filing return it is 25 oct and 25 april....for two half years respectively.
