Can land be acquired by the government for a trust ? under the land acquisition act ?

Land Aquisition Act providees for aquisition of land by Govt for specific purposes including for activities of charitable/public utilities etc.
There is a set procedure under LA act like notifying the intent,fixing compensation,appointing LA officer,public hearing etc,.which has to be followed.
