This is Sravanthi. Actually my client file a return for the AY 2010-11 in manual. At present he said to me that AY 2010-11 return was not filed. Now i file a return for both AY 2010-11 & 2011-12 in online. so what are the consequences that return filed twice for AY 2010-11?

You should have acknowledgement of returns which is filed manually. there is penalty of late filing of return of Rs 5000/- if notice issued by I.T. Department.
Please get confirm about why my return was not filed earlier.

check in the income tax site whether the Return was filed for the relevant previous year. If yes, u can also get the acknowledgement ( for your reference ).
If not, file the tax returns for both the year.. :)

is ur client registered at www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in ?

yes but he can file the return in manual for AY 2010-11. but I can file it in online.what r d consequences?

FY 2009-10 return was filed manually. but now i file the return again in online for d same FY 2009-10. what is the treatment.

thanks frnd but net income mentioned in online return & manual return are same but the schedules are not correct. I mean expenses & Income are not tallied. Is necessary to write a letter to Department?

If ITR of AY 2010-11 was previously filled, then contact to relevant ward/circle of Income Tax Department where the ITR was filled. You may get Acknowledgment too.
The second return filled by you will be taken as nil if you do not forward ITR-V.

u mean to say that the profit figures are different in both the returns ?
if that is the case, its better to write a letter to the Income Tax Office...

sorry Profits mentioned in both the returns are somewhat equal but incomes & expenses are not tallied. main thing is that it is NIL RETURN
